Your Erasmus exchange is coming. To make your experience as good as possible, get ready for it now. We have 5 tips that we help you to prepare for the best adventure in your life. Let’s get started!

  • Prepare yourself

Before arrival, prepare all necessary documents. If you are a non-EU citizen remember to apply for Visa as soon as possible! Visa issues demand much time and attention. Do not forget about health insurance. EU citizens should get an EHIC card, while citizens of non-EU countries have to buy an additional insurance for their stay in Portugal.

  • Find an accommodation

We know that finding an apartment in a foreign country is a difficult task, so we will be happy to help you with this. We verify all landlords, so you can be sure that you will avoid a scam. PM us to get more information.

  • Get from the Airport to your apartment

Lisbon Airport is very well connected to the city center. You can get to your apartment by Aerobús, a shuttle service that links Lisbon Airport to the city center, metro, or local bus. You can also use a taxi or uber.

  • Buy a monthly ticket

One of the first things you should do when you arrive is to buy a monthly ticket for public transport. Firstly you have to get a navigate card, you can do it at every metro station. It costs 7€ if you want to wait 10 days for it and 12€ if you want to have it the next day. you can top up the card with monthly passes. We recommend you a 40€ pass which allows you to use public transport in all of Lisbon’s Metropolitan Area.

  • Go to Erasmus Corner

Erasmus is not only about study but also about people. We are sure that you are looking forward to meeting new friends. The best place for that is Erasmus Corner located at Bairro Alto. It is the center of party life in Lisbon, full of clubs and bars.
